Designed captivating daily feature sections that elevated the visual experience for a diverse readership across the region.
Championing Innovation: A Dream Realized:
Reimagining Northern California News: I launched a design hub for Digital First Media, spearheading a groundbreaking redesign for a collection of Northern California newspapers. This marked a pivotal moment in my career, fulfilling a lifelong dream of shaping the future of news presentation. I assembled and mentored a high-performing team of 20 editors, designers, and paginators, developing clear guidelines, instructional guides, and design tutorials to ensure a cohesive visual identity across all publications.
Elevating Content Through Design Expertise: I owned the design of Arts, Features, and Sports sections, crafting visually engaging layouts that enhanced reader experience. I collaborated closely with section editors, exercising editorial judgment in photo selection and presentation decisions. I also played a key role in the final approval process, ensuring all pages met the highest quality standards before printing.
